Praying Hands

He looked towards heaven and prayed

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus who gave himself as a ransome for all men..."
1 Timothy 2.1-6

Prayer Diary 2008_02

“Listen to Him”

Each Prayer Diary has an overall theme, in this case, 'Listen to Him'.

For each day there is a topic to bring before God in intercession. This is followed by a passage from Scripture relating to the theme followed by a prayer to guide our intercession.

Our Intercessors around the world

Then Eli realised that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel,“Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.”1 Samuel 3.9

Lord, let us not close our ears to hear your call but respond to it as Samuel did when he was yet a child. Let our hearts say with him, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.”

Women and Children affected by HIV/AIDS

She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feetlistening to what he said. Luke 10.39

Lord, amongst the difficulties of home and family life, let us learn from Mary and choose what is better and spend time sitting at your feet listening to what you have to say to our hearts.

Homecare Teams

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.Do what it says.” James 1.22

Thank you Jesus, that as we reach out to others in their pain, so we are hearing your voice & obeying your word, & becoming your hands & feet in this suffering world of HIV/AIDS.

HIV & Drugs and HIV Medication

“Listen and hear my voice;pay attention and hear what I say. When a farmer ploughs for planting does he plough continually?”Isaiah 28.23 & 24

Praise you Jesus, that when you plough the rough ground you do not plough continually but you plant seed in its time. When hard ground is ploughed in us let your seed of the knowledge of your gift of eternal life be sown in our hearts.

HIV Patients

“Now chose life, so that you and your children may liveand that you may love the Lord your God,listen to his voice and hold fast to him”Deuteronomy 30.19-20

Lord, let each one that we pray for choose life in you, that they may love you and listen to your voice and hold fast to you.

HIV Education

“Come and listen, all you who fear God;let me tell you what he has done for me.” Psalm 66.16

Father, we pray that every time that we teach care & prevention from HIV/AIDS each person listening will be able to receive something of what you have done in our lives.

The Very Ill and Bereaved

“My sheep listen to my voice;I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.No-one can snatch them out of my hand.”John 10.27-28

Lord, as we pray for your hurting ones today, may they hear your voice and follow your leading into eternal life. Thank you Jesus, that no-one can snatch them out of your hand.
